Every image listed here has a verified pixel dimension large enough to render at this size without interpolation.
4K UHD (The standard for modern displays) is a deliberate choice rather than a default. Higher resolutions reward photographs with real texture: bark, water, snowfields, foliage, and stone all gain something when the pixels are actually present. They penalize photographs that lean on broad gradients and atmospheric haze, which can show banding when stretched. The selection here favors images in the first category.
Each detail page lets you download the original file or a downsampled variant. If your display is smaller than 3840 × 2160, choose a variant that matches your screen rather than relying on the operating system to scale a larger file — the result is sharper and the file is a fraction of the size. If your display is larger, the original file is what you want.
